Lorraine Driver, BSW, MSW
Board Vice - President

Lorraine E Driver is the owner and founder of Genesis Consulting, LLC. She has a
Bachelors degree in social work from Albany State University and a Masters
degree in social work from Clark Atlanta University. She also have 1
6+ years of
experience in social and community services. She worked successfully in various
fields of social work including community outreach, parent and personal coaching,
parent facilitator, mental health, medical, abuse & neglect, family preservation,
elderly, HIV, Brain and Spinal Cord Injury, functionally impaired, and their
families in residential settings and formal & informal facilities. She was featured
in the Community Notes- July/August 2005 , Jackson-Barrow (Now Athens Area)
Parent Magazine. Lorraine Driver is a mentor recruitment ambassador, Mentor
for the National Network of Youth Ministries. Lorraine Driver served on the CSIP
Safe and Drug Free Schools Advisory Committee for Barrow County Schools. She
is a member of the National Association Of Social Workers. She serves as the
Board Representative and Chair of the Northeast Georgia National Association of
Social Workers.  She is the founder of the Northeast Georgia CHADD. She is very
active in the community. She is a dedicated mother of two, a wife of 8 years, and
community advocate.
Kim Joens, LMSW
Board President

Kim currently works as a medical social worker specializing in palliative care and
end of life issues. She has a Bachelors degree in recreation resource management
from Slippery Rock University of Pa. and a Masters degree in social work from
the University of Georgia. Prior to transiting into the field of social work, Kim
spent 20 years in the field of recreation. She organized day camps and various
recreational activities for physically and mentally challenged youth, high risk
youth and senior citizens. Kim is active member of the Gwinnett Medical Center
cancer committee and Relay for Life team. She shares a home with her partner
of 16 years.
Dr. C Goodwin Green, Pharm. D

He is a graduate of Monroe Area High School. He attended Young Harris College
for two years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the
University of Georgia. He then attended Mercer University where he obtained his
Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He practiced pharmacy at Monroe Drug Company
for the past 25 years as owner, President and CEO, until October 2008. He is
currently employed as a Clinical Pharmacist with Walgreens. He is married to
DeAnna H. Green and has two sons, Charles and Clayton, both currently
attending college.  
Kim Lester, M.A.
Secretary

Mrs. Kim Lester has a  BA in Pychology and MA in Counseling.She is a graduate
of Albany State University in Albany Georgia and Liberty University in Virginia.
She presently resides in Athens, Georgia and is employed with Clarke County
School District and Athens Technical School.  She is a dedicated member of Hands
On Northeast Volunteer Program.
Kelly Hale, CPA

Thelma Byard

Mrs. Thelma Byard is a dedicated community advocate, mother, grandmother,
and wife. Shehas been with the Alcove since it's inception. Mrs. Byard has been a
volunteer within the Walton County community since she was seventeen and has
won numerous accolades for her selfless service  within the Walton area. She is
our secret treasure and a wealth of knowledge of the Alcove's history.
Mike Malcolm, Attorney

Mr. Malcom has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, Georgia,
since 1974 where he serves as a deacon and Teacher for the 5th grade Sunday
School Class.  Mr. Malcom is a board member for the Walton Family YMCA Board
and Rotary International and participated in Leadership Georgia in 2006. Mr.
Malcom is a partner in the law firm of Preston & Malcom, P.C.  He engages in
general Civil Trial Practice with emphasis in areas of Insurance Defense, Premises
Liability, Products Liability, Personal Injury, Construction Law, and Commercial
Litigation. Mr. Malcom received his B.B.A from the University of Georgia and his
J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University. He served as a
member and Administrative Editor for the Mercer Law Review from 1990 to 1992
and is a member of Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Malcom is a member of the Alcovy Bar
Association and the State Bar Association. He was admitted to the State Bar of
Georgia in 1992.  His clients include the City of Monroe, the City of Walnut Grove,
the City of Good Hope, the Walton County Hospital Authority, the Monroe Utilities
Network, Athens First Bank & Trust, George Walton Academy and the Monroe
Golf & Country Club. He is a loving father of two girls Eliza 8 and Camille 5 and
shares the responsibility with his lovely wife Meredith.
